Cost of mobile telephony here was a big shock to me. For the prepaid networks you'll find on the first day it's about 50 cents per minute. It's about 10 times more than back in home. You can choose cheaper options, but then your credit expires after a few days. But it does not have to be that bad.
There is a network called Simyo. They offer 19 cents per minute and 10EUR of credit is good for 3 months. After all, that's cheaper than you can get with a long term contract here.
There are some drawbacks. You can't buy it in the shop around the corner. It's sold online only, they should deliver in about a week. If you lack the hardware, they offer only the most basic phones.
One last thing: it's good to find someone who sends you a recommendation. You get 5EUR of free credit if you were invited by someone.
