If you are coming to start your studies and don't have accommodation prepared up front, you'll probably want to take your time searching for a good one. Providing that you start at autumn or winter, there is a nice hotel with prices in the same range as renting a flat (that is - very cheap for a four star hotel).
The place is called Resideal Antibes. It is conveniently placed just next to the swimming pool (and has two own pools), a few hundred meters from the train station (where many buses stop) and around a kilometer from the old city and beach.
Rooms are nice and clean. But if you want to go for the lowest price, you'll probably end up without any nice view. A nice thing is that even the cheapest rooms are very well equipped. It goes as far as having a washing machine, real oven and flat screen TV.
Prices reach their low when you rent for at least a month. In fact a month costs the same as two and a half weeks. You can reserve for any amount of time. You can even extend your stay for a few days (they ask to tell them about that 15 days before you leave, but I did a few days before and it was OK) and still pay for them using the pro rata monthly price.
One quirk: don't expect reservation through Internet to go smoothly. Call them to be sure.
